1. Who we are

fourth. is a golf tee time coordination app built and operated by fourth. App LLC, a Colorado limited liability company. When this policy says "fourth.", "we", "us", or "our", it means fourth. App LLC.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

• Account information — your name and email address when you sign up
• Profile information — your handicap index (self-reported), home course, and profile photo if you choose to upload one
• Tee time data — courses, dates, times, and group details you post or join
• Round tracker data — hole-by-hole progress and timestamps when you use the round tracker
• Player ratings — ratings you submit after a round, and ratings other golfers submit about you
• Invite information — if you invite a non-user to join a tee time, we collect the phone number you provide for that person solely to send the invite. See Section 5 below.

Information from our waitlist

If you signed up for the fourth. waitlist at myfourth.app, we collect your email address through Mailchimp so we can notify you about the launch. Waitlist emails are handled separately from in-app accounts and are not merged with your user data unless you sign up with the same email.

Information collected automatically

• Device identifiers — used by Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you transactional push notifications (for example, when someone joins your tee time). We do not use device identifiers for advertising or to track you across other apps.
• App usage data — pages viewed, features used, and interaction patterns, collected via Google Analytics
• Crash and performance data — collected automatically by Firebase to help us fix bugs

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect precise GPS or background location data
• We do not collect payment information (the core app is free; payments are handled by the App Store or Google Play platforms where applicable)
• We do not collect contact lists, calendar data, or other data from your device
• We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Display your tee times in the local feed and match you with other golfers
• Send transactional push notifications (when someone joins your tee time, when a tee time you joined is confirmed, or when your tee time is about to start). We do not send marketing push notifications.
• Power the live round tracker and generate your shareable ETA link
• Calculate estimated finish times based on your pace of play
• Display player ratings and build your profile reputation over time
• Improve the app through analytics and bug reports
• Send occasional product update emails or important account notices. You can opt out of product emails at any time.

We do not use your data to serve ads. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to running fourth.

4. Live round tracker and shareable links

When you start a round using the round tracker, you can generate a shareable link (e.g., myfourth.app/live/[id]). Anyone with that link can view your current hole, elapsed time, and estimated finish time — no account required.

This link is controlled entirely by you. You choose whether to share it and with whom. We recommend only sharing it with people you trust. You can end the active round session at any time, which stops the live view from updating.

We do not collect or store GPS location data. Pace-of-play calculations are based on timestamps from your hole-by-hole check-ins only.

5. Friends System and SMS invites

fourth. lets you invite friends to your tee times in two ways:

• In-app invites — if your friend is already a fourth. user, we send them a push notification inviting them to join.
• SMS invites — if your friend is not a fourth. user, you can send them a text message invite containing a deep link. These text messages are sent through Twilio, our SMS service provider.

When you send an SMS invite, you confirm that the recipient has given you permission to send them a text message on fourth.'s behalf. By initiating the invite, you represent that you have the recipient's consent and that the invite is not unsolicited commercial messaging.

We use invite phone numbers solely to send the invite text. We do not use invite phone numbers for marketing, do not share them with other users, and do not retain them beyond what is needed to deliver the invite and support deep-link attribution. If a recipient does not sign up within 30 days, we delete the invite record and associated phone number.

If you receive a fourth. invite text and do not want further communication, you can reply STOP and you will not receive any additional messages from the fourth. SMS sender.

6. How we share your information

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• Other fourth. users — your name, handicap, home course, and player rating are visible to other users when you join or host a tee time. Profile photos are visible on your public profile.
• Firebase (Google) — we use Firebase for authentication, database storage, push notifications, and file storage. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's data processing terms.
• Twilio — we use Twilio to send SMS invite messages on your behalf when you invite non-users. Twilio processes phone numbers only for the purpose of delivering those messages.
• Mailchimp — we use Mailchimp to send waitlist and product update emails. Mailchimp processes email addresses only for the purpose of delivering those emails.
• Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand how the app is used. This data is aggregated and anonymized where possible.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of fourth. or its users. Where legally permitted, we will notify you before disclosing your information.
• Business transfers — if fourth. App LLC is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify users if this occurs.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

7. Data retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Account and profile data — retained for as long as your account is active
• Tee time and round history — retained indefinitely unless you request deletion, in order to power profile stats, player ratings, and future season leaderboard features
• SMS invite records — retained for up to 30 days from the date of the invite, then deleted
• Analytics and crash data — retained according to Google's standard Firebase and Analytics retention policies

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

8. Your rights and choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — you can update your name, handicap, and profile information directly in the app
• Deletion — you can request that we delete your account and associated data by emailing hello@myfourth.app
• Opt out of push notifications — you can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
• Opt out of product emails — every product update email includes an unsubscribe link
• Opt out of SMS invites — reply STOP to any fourth. invite text
• Opt out of analytics — you can limit ad tracking through your device settings, which also limits analytics data we collect

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@myfourth.app. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Age requirement

fourth. is not directed at children. You must be at least 17 years old to create a fourth. account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe someone under 17 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@myfourth.app and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using Firebase's built-in security features, enforcing authentication on all user data, and using Firestore security rules to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to see.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your data using industry-standard practices.

11. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@myfourth.app.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app grows and new features are added. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The updated policy will always be available at myfourth.app/privacy.
